4.5.1. Installing the ELDK

Installation:

• mount the cdrom or loop mount image (losetup)
  -> Trap: (mount exec option)

• two steps:
  1. as regular user: install packages ./install -d /opt/eldk-4.1 ppc_4xxFP
  2. as root: run the ELDK_MAKEDEV and ELDK_FIXOWNER scripts

ELDK:

• ELDK is functional and robust workhorse

• ELDK consists of two parts:
  • host components: ELDT
  • target components

• everything is in one directory
