TODO List for Linux v2.6 especially for MPC8xx processors

-- WolfgangDenk - 10 Jun 2005

* merge CPU15 workaround

* kill arch/ppc/8xx_io/fec.c when new FEC driver based on Andy Fleming's PHY layer is done and tested (there aren't much FEC users on 2.6 as it's broken for ages and nobody complained)

* Remove misc-embedded.c

* Fix BDI2000 support (done, BDI has to know about physical addresses or the kernel needs to store the virtual address).

* 8MB D-TLB pages for the kernel (done): The problem with doing that is you lose some of the memory protection capabilities. So, if your module uses some incorrect pointers, it could scribble over something else instead of getting a fault due to an unmapped page

* panto how could we cover module space in the 8M pages? marcelo panto, by making vmalloc() use 8M pages when appropriate Conn(aka Obscene_CNN) we could also load modules into linear address space like was proposed in this patch If the kernel space is pinned all modules in that space will be pinned as well, reducing tlb misses.

* Fix swap (

* Figure out the reason for icbi misbehaviour on __flush_dcache_icache_phys(): Reported/worked-around by Anton Wollert.
